Warbirds – a Brutally Positive Movie Review

Is there a World War II monster movie for most of the whole family?Warbirds

Yep, this is it:  2008’s Warbirds.  Like any monster movie, there are plenty shootings and maulings.  Yet the violence is more action-based than gruesomely grotesque. And there are good role models:  women aviators!   Women Air Force Service Pilots (better known as WASPs) flew all sorts of missions during during World War II, according to this excellent government website.

But this movie is no history lesson.  You see, after crash-landing on a remote island with a top secret cargo, the women pilots must join forces with the enemy—a stranded group of Japanese soldiers—if they are going to survive an onslaught of vicious pterodactyls!  Way to go with a winning concept, Warbirds the movie!
